Facial Oils and Serums- Which one is best for YOU?

Facial Oils and Serums- Which one is best for YOU?

If you’ve been around here for a while, you know we’re slightly obsessed with oil cleansing + moisturizing.  Minimalism skincare, amiright?

Non-comedogenic oils are those that are less likely to clog pores and contribute to the formation of acne or blackheads & whiteheads. These oils are typically considered safer for use on the skin, especially for individuals with acne-prone or sensitive skin.

Since a new season is upon us, let’s outline some different carrier oils included in our serums we have in shop - perhaps it’ll help you narrow down which would be best for YOU ♡

Argan Oil:  lightweight and non-greasy - known for its moisturizing and skin-nourishing properties, suitable for a wide range of skin types, including oily and acne-prone skin.  Our fave is from Cocoon Apothecary or try Mad Hippie’s Antioxidant Facial Oil.

Jojoba Oil:  closely resembling the skin's natural sebum, making it an excellent choice for balancing oil production, moisturizing without clogging pores and can be used on various skin types.  Three Ships Glow is amazing and our most popular cleansing oil is our local gal - Lunah Life’s Triple Threat.  So many uses and it comes in many sizes + we have a refill program for this best seller.

Safflower Oil: very light and non-comedogenic, helps hydrate the skin without causing breakouts. It is often recommended for sensitive or acne-prone skin.  Try our Refine Serum from Wildcraft.

Hemp Seed Oil: rich in essential fatty acids and known for its anti-inflammatory properties, Hemp Seed helps soothe irritated skin.   Try Regenerate Wildcraft.

Grapeseed Oil: lightweight and easily absorbed by the skin. It’s a great moisturizer for all skin types. A few grape seed based oils we have:   Glory Oil from EcoSonya and Boost from Three Ships.

Sunflower Oil: another non-comedogenic option that is often used in skincare products. It provides hydration without clogging pores. Om Organics uses it in their clarifying and nourishing face oil

Rosehip Oil: high in vitamins and antioxidants, making it suitable for anti-aging and scar-fading purposes. Use sparingly on oily skin. Our go to's are:  Cocoon Apothecary Rosehip Oil, Moon Light Magic Beauty Oil and Three Ships Boost.

Evening Primrose Oil: used for its anti-inflammatory properties, it is generally non-comedogenic and beneficial for sensitive or acne-prone skin. These two from The New New Age: Voice in the Wilderness, Midsummer Nectar or Lunah's Moon Light Magic Beauty Oil.

Tamanu Oil: anti-inflammatory and healing properties and is used for its skin-repairing abilities.  Try any Best Skin Ever products from Living Libations or Om's Clarifying Concentrate.

Marula Oil: lightweight, fast-absorbing oil that is suitable for various skin types, including sensitive and oily skin. Om Marula + Cactus nourishing face oil is our fave!

Almond Oil (Non-Comedogenic): While almond oil is often considered non-comedogenic, it's essential to use the non-comedogenic (refined) version, as unrefined almond oil may be more likely to clog pores - HANDS DOWN - Triple Threat Serum.
